This trailer and episode are part of a larger series which I directed photography for.  The series was featured on The Guardian and tracks the journeys of several entrepreneurs as they grow their "side hustle" businesses. 

The producers of this series wanted it to have a vintage, on the street feeling, and so we opted for vintage lenses.  We shot this series mostly on LOMO anamorphic 50mm and 35mm lenses.  Working with these lenses provided a challenge since they are very front heavy, difficult to focus, and add lots of weight to a gimbal system making it hard to balance.  We found creative solutions to all of these issues including using a focus whip and a special cage for the gimbal.  I think in the end it paid off, as this series definitely has a unique visual style.
